About the 5th of June

The evening will be filled with delicious food, shameless dancing, and lovely people. Please plan to arrive at 18:30 for opening drinks and a toast. At 03:00 the last standing will get kicked out. As we'll have our civil marriage in Rotterdam, there will be no ceremony on the 5th of June.

Gifts

Your presence means the world to us, especially with the travel involved! If you'd like to contribute to our honeymoon in Japan, our IBAN is NL94INGB0798569743 (Hr EA Flach / Mw L Tramutola).

Dresscode

We kindly request semi-formal attire, keeping in mind the 25-30°C weather. Please avoid wearing white or black. The venue has quite a bit of grass, so plan your footwear accordingly.

Transportation & Accommodation

We'll celebrate in the small town of Santa Cesarea Terme, which is in the south of Puglia, Italy. Santa Cesarea Terme is famous for its thermal baths, has gorgeous places to swim and will have plenty of hotels for us to stay.

Reaching Santa Cesarea Terme

The closest airport is Brindisi (BDS), which is about 1h10 driving by car. Another viable airport is Bari (BRI), which is a drive of 2h30. Traveling by public transport is possible, but much slower and will not allow you to explore surrounding villages easily.

Staying in Santa Cesarea Terme

Hotel Santa Lucia is a 3 minute walk to Cala dei Balcani and reasonably priced. If you are looking for more luxury, probably the Augustus Resort will be more to your liking. For a complete list of hotels, you can consult booking.com.

Getting to Cala dei Balcani

Cala dei Balcani takes at most 20 minutes to reach by foot from any hotel in Santa Cesarea Terme. However, Cala dei Balcani sits on top of a hill and could be a challenging climb, especially in warm weather. We recommend a short drive uphill to the venue, and then you can enjoy a relaxing walk back to your hotel after the event. You can pick up your car (when sober) the next day. If walking is not an option, you can arrange a taxi with your hotel.

Making the most of Puglia!

The drive from the airport to Santa Cesarea Terme will already offer many wonderful places to visit. When coming from Bari, you could drop by Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Ostuni, Lecce and Otranto. From Brindisi your trip would be shorter, but definitely do not pass up on Lecce and Otranto. The drive from Otranto to Santa Cesarea Terme is a pretty one as well.

Further exploration of Puglia

There are so many amazing places to visit in Puglia that we could write an entire blog about them. Instead of doing that, Lucia has prepared an elaborate collection of places on Google Maps. This list is packed with charming villages and culinary highlights!

Food you should try

Of course, there are many iconic Italian dishes worth trying, such as pizza, pasta, and delicious wines. Puglia also has some unique specialties we'd like to highlight: Panzerotti, Pasticiotti, and Burrata. Some of these will be available at the party, but make sure to try them during your stay in Puglia.
